Stories from the Chair

Stories from the Chair is a documentary short that explores the working life of a tattooist. Through a series of 6 interviews we explore the deeper emotional investment, presence and purpose that the tattoo holds in our society.  Aesthetic or armour, tattoos are had for many reasons. In this film we learn about the stories that are shared and told with the artists when people are in the chair.

Stories from the Chair

Stories From The Chair is a new documentary that explores the life and work of six tattoo artists. We learn about the myths and the increasingly busy role of the tattoo artist in our modern Britain  and the heartfelt and at times, wild stories that are shared with them whilst clients are in the chair.

We learn about human connection, relationships and trust as they connect with people over the course of a tattoo, and what that really means for them.  This curious and heart-warming watch peels back the illusion of tattooing, and will make you never send a question mark in a message again!
